The Tata Nano was revealed today as the world’s cheapest car. At 100,000 rupees (to us that’s around £1200), that’s cheap! So how have they done that?!
Simple – they’ve taken the car back down to its absolute basics. That means all the things we take for granted. Like power steering, and electric windows. And at around 50mpg, it’ll be pretty easy on the fuel too.
It’s a clever move by a very switched-on businessman. This little car is going to be in demand, making it affordable for many. And it’ll be a lot safer than the mode of transport used by those who can’t currently afford a car. Whole families (that’s right – Dad, Mum, and 2 chidren!) on a scooter is a common sight on Indian roads. Hardly safe.
We liked this dinky little car, despite the furore it’s caused with the environmentalists. It’s got character. And breaks new ground in lots of ways. So, even though it’s not destined for the UK (not at this point anyway – but who knows about the future?), we decided it needed finishing off with a suitable personalised number plate. So here are our ideas for the Tata Nano …..
T11 ANO (Tata NANO)
NAN 10x
T1 NYT (we liked this Tiny Tata)
or just 71 NY (Tiny)
SMA 113R (Smaller)
These registration numbers cost a little more than the car itself, so here are some more appropriately priced ones…..
T44 ATO Tata number plates
N14 ANO
N444 ANO
